School Development Plan 2026 - 2027

What is it?

The School Development Plan outlines both the long-term priorities and ambitions that Tynewydd Primary School aims to achieve, as well as the short-term actions that will support these goals. It is not only a strategic document but also a practical, working guide for all staff and learners.

Where does it come from?

The plan is the result of an analysis of the school’s needs, strengths, and areas for development, as identified through our internal monitoring, assessment, and evaluation systems, as well as feedback from pupils, parents, inspections, and the Local Authority. 

Priorities 2026 - 2027

 The school has identified three key priorities for the 2026/2027 academic year. These are: 

Priority 1: Teaching and learning - To embed a consistent whole‑school approach to high‑quality teaching that secures strong challenge, effective differentiation, and responsive assessment and feedback, enabling all learners to make sustained progress and increasing independence. 

Priority 2: Digital Competence Framework -  To embed a consistent, progressive and purposeful whole‑school approach to Digital Competence that ensures all pupils develop strong digital skills and apply them confidently across the curriculum.  

Priority 3: Reading - To develop a consistent, progressive whole‑school approach to reading that ensures high‑quality teaching, robust assessment, purposeful application of reading skills, and strong home–school engagement so that all learners make sustained progress and develop a lifelong love of reading.
