School Development Plan 2025 - 2026
School Development Plan 2025 - 2026
What is it?
The School Development Plan outlines both the long-term priorities and ambitions that Tynewydd Primary School aims to achieve, as well as the short-term actions that will support these goals. It is not only a strategic document but also a practical, working guide for all staff and learners.
Where does it come from?
The plan is the result of an analysis of the school’s needs, strengths, and areas for development, as identified through our internal monitoring, assessment, and evaluation systems, as well as feedback from pupils, parents, inspections, and the Local Authority.
Priorities 2025 - 2026
The school has identified three key priorities for the 2025/2026 academic year. These are:
Priority 1: Teaching and learning - To continue to develop a consistent, whole-school approach to teaching and learning, with a focus on assessment and feedback, in order to inform teaching and provide learners with access to opportunities that are challenging and responsive to their needs.
Priority 2: Curriculum - To strengthen curriculum coherence by embedding a strategic, well-sequenced approach to planning and delivery that ensures consistent depth, progression, and meaningful cross-curricular links.
Priority 3: Welsh - To embed a consistent, progressive approach to the teaching and use of Welsh across the school, enabling learners to use the language authentically and independently.
Parents and carers are invited to a workshop on Tuesday, 23rd September, at 5:00 PM to discuss these priorities in more detail
